PLAYOFFS OPEN DIVISION

WEEK 11

GAME 1 was a tale of two halves as NOR CAL was able to hang with Frisco's Finest in the first trailing by only 2, 33-31. But TC Russelle Arciaga motivated his players and they responded out scoring Nor Cal 60 to 29 in the second half to win 93-60 and advance to the Championship. Frisco's Finest had six players in double figures led by Ricci Miles 17 pts, 15 pts a piece from AJ and Rommel Sembrano, 14 pts from Rob Cuingca, 13 pts from Russelle Arciaga and 11 pts from Ryan San Juan in the Victory. Nor Cal was led by Jayson Deguzman's 19 pts and Edward Mendez's 11 pts as their Cinderella playoff run came to an end.

Game 2 saw the Defending Champion TRAXX hang on for victory in a hard fought battle over Genesis 68-62. Behind the one-two punch of Carlo Lacsamana's 25 pts and Phil Newton's 15 pts, Traxx put themselves in a position to repeat as Champions. The FilCom Basketball Association is a organization that was established in September 2005 in Hayward, CA.  Our mission is to promote unity, good sportsmanship, and a healthy, active lifestyle within the community through the game of basketball.
The FilCom Committee is dedicated to working together as a team to ensure that the league runs smoothly and as efficiently as possible.
Currently, we have three different leagues within FilCom:
* Open League for players 18 and over
* 30 and Over League designed for our older participants
* 6’0” and Under League open to all 18 and over who meet the height requirements
Our Rules and Regulations were created for the safety and well-being of all our participants.  As a result, all rules are strictly enforced.
We started this organization to provide a way for everyone to come together and enjoy a friendly game of basketball.  We believe in respecting our players, their families, our referees, spectators, and each other.
FilCom would like to welcome you to our website, and hope that you will consider joining our league.  To all members of FilCom, THANK YOU.

Before you start your registration, you must read and understand the Guidelines. You must meet all requirements as the Team Captains or Individual Player. Please be advised that registering a new team does not guarantee slot on the league, but will be placed on the waiting list. To register, please contact Ed either by e-mail at edfilcom@yahoo.com or by phone at 510-205-6252. Due to a limited teams accepted, the procedure is to provide priority slot for the current teams to ensure slot for the next season. If the current teams did not submit team entry fee by the deadline provided, all teams on the waiting list will be serviced on a "first come, first serve" basis. A notification thru e-mail will be sent out and the responsibility is yours to make arrangement with one of the committee to reserve the slot.

Rule of the Week:

INBOUND VIOLATIONS:

Five Seconds Violation:
* The inbounder has five seconds to put the ball into play from out of bounds. Once the inbounder takes control of the ball after a basket made by opponent or received the ball from the referee, the five second count starts. The count will stop once it leaves the inbounder’s hands (not when it is touch on the court by a teammate or opponent).

Traveling Violation:
There are two situations where an inbounder may travel when trying to inbound the ball. High school basketball rules states:
1. After a made basket, the inbounder may run the baseline as they look for a teammate to pass the ball to. The inbounder can run the baseline after a timeout (if the timeout was taken) after a made basket.

2. When it’s an out of bounds play other than after a made basket, the referee hands the ball to the inbounder and must stay within a three-foot area of the place they were given the ball. The inbounder may move both feet, but once they move beyond the three foot area, it becomes a violation
